CMC issues Covid advisory, makes masks mandatory in public places


The Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) on Saturday issued an advisory making face masks mandatory for people living in areas under its jurisdiction.


According to an advisory issued by the CMC, “All citizens residing within CMC area as well as outside citizens coming to CMC area or present in CMC area will have to wear mask appropriately while moving out and while in public places. They have to maintain social distancing of 2 meters among themselves at all times while in public places.”


This apart, the CMC has asked the malls, shop and store owners to ensure social distancing about 2 meters within their premises.

“The responsibility of maintenance of social distancing lies with the Owner of the premises,” stated the advisory.


“Citizens are advised to maintain hand hygiene frequently and observe appropriate coughing/ sneezing etiquette at all times. They have to refrain from spitting in public places.

The CEO, managers, head of the offices of government as well as private offices shall ensure that their employees are observing Covid appropriate behaviour mentioned above in their Office premises,” read the advisory.


Any violations on the above-mentioned aspect will attract penal provisions of the Odisha COVID- 19 regulations, warned the CMC.
