Odisha budget proposes Rs 1,874 crore under KALIA Yojana


Bhubaneswar: Odisha Finance Minister Niranjan Pujari on Saturday proposed to allocate Rs 1,874 crore under KALIA Yojana as he presented a full-fledged budget of Rs 2 lakh crore in the State Assembly for the 2022-2023 financial year.

The budget has an allocation of Rs 21,166 crore for the Agriculture and Allied sectors.

Krushak Assistance for Livelihood and Income Augmentation (KALIA) scheme was introduced by the state government in the financial year 2018-19 to accelerate agricultural prosperity and reduce poverty in the state.

About 38 lakh small & marginal farmers and 18 lakh landless agricultural households have already been assisted.

It is envisaged to continue the support through 2022-23 and an amount of Rs 1,874 crore is proposed for KALIA scheme, said the Minister.

The ‘Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana’ has been allocated Rs 2,664 crore in the budget.

Pujari proposed an allocation of Rs 2,325 crore under the ‘Mukhyamantri Swasthya Seba Mission’ for the development of public health in the State.

Pujari proposed Rs 646 crore for the ‘Mo School Abhiyan’ and Rs 100 crore for the High School Transformation Scheme.

Rs 11 crore budgetary allocation has been proposed in 2022-23 financial year for the ‘Mo College Abhiyan’.
