CUO celebrates 73rd Van Mohotsava

The Central University of Odisha celebrated 73^rd Van Mohotsava in collaboration with the KoraputForest Division, and 202 battalion, CRPF in a befitting manner at the University permanent campus, Sunabeda .

 A plantation drive was inaugurated in the University campus by Prof. Asit Kumar Das, Registrar in the presence of Bruno A, Commandant and his spouse Cisy Jaquilime 202 CRPF; Tripati Panda, Range Officer, Semiliguda under Koraput Forest Division, and other officials of the University. Koraput Forest Division is undertaking plantation of 10,000 saplings in CUO campus.

The Vice-Chancellor I/c. of the CUO Prof. S. K. Palita conveyed his best wishes for the success of the programme.

Prof. Das stressed on the importance of planting trees and the need for their conservation. He said, “we have to make CUO a green campus. In the near future more seedling plantations will be carried out at the campus in collaboration with the Koraput Forest Division”. He thanked the Forest Division for their effort in organizing the plantation programme. He advised the staff and students to save trees and plant trees as much as possible.

Bruno spoke about the importance of Vana Mohotsavaas it is aimed to create awareness among the people for the plantation, which is helpful for carbon sequestration process. He appreciated the University’s endeavour to make the campus green.
