Bhubaneswar: The Odisha cabinet on Friday approved the execution of piped water supply in Dhenkanal, Kendrapara and Balasore districts under the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM).
By execution of the projects, around 322204 people of four blocks in Dhenkanal, 435190 people of three blocks in Kendrapara and 262093 people of three blocks in Balasore will be benefited with safe drinking water.
In Dhenkanal, around 3,22,204 people of 271 villages under 71 GPs of 04 Blocks of the district will be benefited. On this account, 52914 people of 46 villages under 13 GPs of Kamakhyanagar Block; 135243 people of 92 villages under 29 GPs of Parjang Block; 96973 people of 106 villages under 21 GPs of Kankadahad Block and 37074 people of 27 villages under 8 GPs of Sadar Block will be provided with safe drinking water.
The state cabinet have approved the lowest tender of M/s Laxmi Civil Engineering Services Pvt. Ltd., Kolhapur amounting to Rs. 501.85 crore for execution of the work. The work is targeted for completion within a period of 24 months.
