Odisha Cabinet approves new posts in revenue service


Bhubaneswar: The Cabinet on Friday approved for creation of 198 posts in Odisha Revenue Service (ORS) cadre in addition to the existing cadre strength of 1092.

With this, the cadre strength will increase to 1290.

At present, the cadre strength of Odisha Revenue Service, Group-B is 1092. Out of which, 79 posts are under leave, deputation and training reserve.

The new posts include 32 additional tehsildars (enforcement) for highly sensitive minor mineral, 30 sub-registrar and 11 court officers in Board of Revenue.

The existing posts are very limited to place the services of ORS officers in different departments, PSUs, government agencies and autonomous bodies as per their requirements.

Besides, there is additional requirement of posts in the department for sensitive minor mineral tehsils, settlement and consolidation offices, registration offices, Revenue Inspectors’ Training Institute (RITI), Bhubaneswar and Board of Revenue, Cuttack.
