Internal Squabbling in BJD Delays Electing District Presidents

BJD gears up for 2024 polls, appoints senior observers for 30 dists


Keeping an eye on 2024 the general elections, the ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD) has overhauled party organisation and appointed five senior observers for all the districts.


BJD President Naveen Patnaik has appointed party leaders – Niranjan Pujari, Prasanna Acharya, Pramila Mallik, Debiprasad Mishra, Maheswar Mohanty and Pratap Jena – as senior observers for the districts.

“In supersession of all the previous order issued this regard earlier, BJD president Naveen Patnaik appointed party functionaries as senior observers in 30 districts,” informed the BJD.


Niranjan Pujari: Nuapada, Kalahandi, Bolangir and Bargarh


Prasanna Acharya: Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, Jajpur, Bhadrak and Balasore


Pramila Mallik: Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Rayagada and Gajapati


Debiprasad Mishra: Ganjam, Nayagarh, kandhamal, Khordha, Puri and Boudh


Maheswar Mohanty: Mayurbhanj and Keonjhar


Pratap Jena: Sundergarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Sonepur, Deogarh, Angul and Dhenkanal districts
