JE caught while accepting bribe in Odisha’s Ganjam

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Vigilance on Friday apprehended the Junior Engineer (JE) Beguniapada block in Ganjam district while allegedly receiving Rs 7,000 bribe.

Beguniapada block JE Sudhansu Mallick was caught by Vigilance while receiving bribe of Rs 7000 from a beneficiary of ‘Mo Guhal Scheme’ for facilitating release of dues towards construction of cattle shed.

The Vigilance sleuths laid a trap and caught the JE while he was allegedly accepting the bribe.

A case has been registered under Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act, 2018.

Meanwhile, simultaneous searches have been launched at two locations to ascertain disproportionate assets of Mallick.
