BDO in Bolangir caught by Vigilance while accepting PC

Bhubaneswar: A BDO in Odisha’s Bolangir district was caught by Vigilance while taking bribe of Rs 1.80 lakh from a contractor as percentage commission (PC) for granting a Rs 30 lakh project for repairing government quarters.

Binod Kumar Naik, OAS-1 (Jr.), BDO, Gudvela Block has been apprehended by Odisha Vigilance while demanding and accepting bribe of Rs 1.80 lakh from a contractor for clearing his past bills for executed work and for awarding new contract, said Vigilance.

The Vigilance laid a trap and apprehended the BDO

Following trap, simultaneous searches are going on at 3 locations of Naik from disproportionate assets angle.

Investigation is in progress, it said.
