Bhubaneswar: BMC mulling to impose parking restrictions in Rajmahal-AG Square

Bhubaneswar: To make the stretch from Rajmahal Square to AG Square congestion-free, the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) is planning to announce the stretch as no parking zone.

According to reports, the Bhubaneswar Smart City Limited has written a letter to the BMC in this regard. In the letter, the Bhubaneswar Smart City Limited has asked the Bhubaneswar civic body to withdraw the parking tenders from the vendors.

It may be noted that due to parking of vehicles along the road results traffic congestion on the stretch. It takes hours to the commuters to cross the road. Vendors with or without push cart are also a cause of traffic on the road.

Reports said a multi-level parking facility will be inaugurated at Rajmahal on Thursday. Following this, the decision of withdrawing the parking tender has been taken.

After declaration of no-parking zone, the BMC will impose hefty fine if vehicles were found parked on the stretch.
