Bhubaneswar: Union Minister of state for Health and Family welfare Dr Bharati Pravin Pawar today visited AIIMS Bhubaneswar.
During her first visit to the national institute, Union Minister Dr. Pawar inaugurated a multiutility building in the premises of AIIMS Bhubaneswar. This building will be useful for different welfare facilities.
During her visit Dr. Pawar, in the presence of AIIMS Bhubaneswar Executive Director Dr. Ashutosh Biswas, faculty members and senior officials had an extensive review meeting over the comprehensive functioning system of the institute.
Addressing the program, Union minister of state for Health and Family welfare highlighted the noble intentions of Prime Minister Narendra Modi who envisioned a healthy India with accessible and affordable health care for one and all.
Appreciating the efforts of AIIMS Bhubaneswar for providing quality health care with various state-of-art facilities Dr. Pawar suggested various measures to address daily huge footfall and patient waiting time for various services.
She further emphasized the need for an organized patient referral service system at various levels of the health care service system.
To build such a type of robust patient referral criterion, there needs to be a collaborative approach between AIIMS and other state-run health care institutions citing the example of effective COVID management during pandemic through a sound referral system across the country.
She also took a review of various academic, research, recruitment, financial and other aspects of AIIMS.
Union Minister Dr. Pawar also visited some of the state of art facilities like PET-CT, ESWL, CSSD, HELA etc and lauded the institute for having such facilities to provide better health care to the people of Odisha and neighbouring states.
She also applauded AIIMS Bhubaneswar for starting renal transplant services and encouraged them to start other transplant services.
At the outset of her visit, the Union Minister was welcomed by Executive Director Dr. Ashutosh Biswas and given a rousing welcome. On the occasion, Dr. Pawar paid floral tributes to former Prime Minister Bharat Ratna Late Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s statue in the campus.
Medical Superintendent Dr. S N Mohanty, DEAN Dr. P R Mohapatra, DDA Rashmi Ranjan Sethy, FA P K Sahu, SE K P Mishra, Registrar B B Mishra, head of different departments, faculty members, senior officials and staffs were present during the visit of Union Minister.
