5G services in Odisha before January 26: Ashwini Vaishnaw


Bhubaneswar: Odisha will have 5G telecom services before January 26, said Union Telecom and Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on Thursday.

Vaishnaw made the announcement at the foundation stone laying ceremony of the redevelopment of Bhubaneswar Railway station here.

“I had promised you that Odisha would get 5G services in the first phase. The 5G services will be launched before January 26,” said the Telecom Minister.

Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw and Coal & Mines Minister Pralhad Joshi laid the foundation stone for redevelopment of Bhubaneswar railway station.

It is one of the 36 stations being redeveloped in Odisha.

The Railways Minister also announced a new MEMU train for Bhadrak soon.

Jagannath circuit Express train will be introduced next month under Bharat Gaurav project to promote Jagannath culture, he informed.

On the occasion, Dharmendra Pradhan slammed the Odisha government.

 “Please, do not allege central neglect and instead join the development works. Modi govt is doing works at lightning speed,” he said.

Odisha’s revenue from mining was Rs 5,000 crore in 2014-15 and it has now gone up to Rs 50,000 crore following amendments in auction rules, said Union Coal and Mines Minister.

Bhubaneswar Railway Station is a part of the vision of the Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw to create modern infrastructural facilities and amenities for the railway passengers throughout India. Redevelopment of Bhubaneswar Railway Station is very important project as this project is being monitored by Railway Minister and also stressed upon early completion and execution of work.
This project is at a total cost of Rs 308 Crore and targeted to be completed within 24 months.
