Ropeway ride at Nandankanan from Feb 15

Bhubaneswar: The ropeway ride will resume for visitors at Nandankanan zoo from February 15, said an official.

The company engaged in installation work of the ropeway will handover it to the Nandankanan Zoological Park administration by February 10.

The work has been completed and cabin installation work is going on. Four cabins will be installed in the first phase for visitors, said the official.

Eight more cabins will be installed in two phases later.

Around 500 visitors can enjoy the ropeway ride per hour after installation of 12 cabins.

The ropeway was introduced in 1994 to ferry passengers from the zoo to the botanical garden passing over the Kanjia lake. It is one among the major attractions for the zoo visitors.
