Successful trial run of goods train on Angul-Sukinda rail line


Dhenkanal: A successful trial run of goods train consisting of 58 wagons was conducted on Angul-Sukinda railway line (98.7 km) on Monday.

The trial run was conducted for testing the tracks before its commissioning.

According to East Coast Railway (ECoR) sources, the formal commissioning of the new line would be held in last week of February.

Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw and Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan are likely to dedicate the new railway line to the nation.

Angul-Sukinda railway line is one of the important railway lines of Odisha meant for transportation of coal, iron ore and other minerals.

A special purpose vehicle ‘Angul-Sukinda Railway Limited (ASRL)’ has been formed for construction and maintenance of this broad-gauge single line between Budhapank station (in Angul district) and Baghuapal station (near Sukinda in Jajpur district).
