Partial shutdown of Bhubaneswar airport may not affect flight operation

Flight service between Bhubaneswar and Jamshedpur begins


Bhubaneswar: The flight service between Bhubaneswar and Jamshedpur in Jharkhand under the UDAN (Ude Desh ka Aam Naagrik) scheme commenced on Tuesday.

Domestic carrier IndiaOne Air took off at 7.30 am from the Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA) and landed at the Sonari Airport, Jamshedpur. From Jamshedpur, the flight took off for Kolkata.

According to the domestic carrier, the flight service from Bhubaneswar to Jamshedpur will cost Rs 2999 and airfare from Jamshedpur to Kolkata has been fixed at Rs 1999.

The flight will depart from Bhubaneswar at 6.30 am every day and land in Jamshedpur airport at 7.50 am. On the return journey, it will leave Jamshedpur at 8.15 am and reach Kolkata at 9.20 am.

“The air travel will take one hour and 20 minutes from Bhubaneswar to Jamshedpur and one hour and five minutes from Jamshedpur to Kolkata,” said Sambit Kumar Nayak, director, IndiaOne Air.

“Recently, we have launched flight service to Jeypore and Visakhapatnam. Now we have launched Bhubaneswar to Jamshedpur and Kolkata. The flight will be extended to Cooch Behar in near future,” Nayak said.
