Two inter-state drug smugglers arrested in Bhubaneswar


Bhubaneswar: The Special Task Force (STF) of Odisha Police has arrested two inter-state drug smugglers in Bhubaneswar.

The STF seized a huge quantity of ganja and other materials from the possession of the accused.

The accused have been identified as Mansingh Yadav of Gorakhpur in Utter Pradesh and Mukesh Kumar Yadav of Siwan in Bihar. The accused were residing at Ganeswarpur under Januganja area of Balasore district in Odisha.

Acting on intelligence inputs about illegal transportation of narcotic drugs, a team of STF and Commissionerate Police conducted a joint raid at Ghatikia under the Bharatpur area in Bhubaneswar and apprehended the duo, the STF stated.

During search, ganja weighing more than 185 kg, two cars and other incriminating materials were seized from their possession, it added.

A case has been registered at Bharatpur Police Station in this regard. The investigation is underway.

The Special Task Force has seized more than 68 kg of brown sugar/heroin, 202 gram cocaine and more than 113 quintals of ganja/marijuna, 750 gram of opium and arrested more than 168 drug dealers/peddlers since 2020.
