Vigilance officials on late Monday night intercepted a government vehicle belonging to Lamtaput forest ranger officer and found cash Rs 1,05,000, suspected to be ill-gotten.
Basing upon reliable input, Surjit Kumar Sahu, Forest Range Officer, Lamtaput in Koraput district was intercepted by a team of Odisha Vigilance with cash of Rs 1,05,000 ( suspected ill-gotten cash) at Koraput Town while he was plying to Bhubaneswar in his office Bolero Vehicle bearing Regd No OD-05-AM 1928, informed vigilance.
As Sahu could not account for the cash satisfactorily, the amount was recovered from him and seized.
Following interception, simultaneous searches are going on at office and residential quarters of Sahu at Lamtaput and family residence at Bhubaneswar from DA angle. Investigation is in progress.
