Forest fires in Odisha: Dharmendra seeks intervention of Yadav

Bhubaneswar: Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Monday sought the intervention of Union Forest Minister Bhupender Yadav on forest fires in Odisha.

Pradhan held a meeting with Yadav in New Delhi.

“Held a meeting with Shri @byadavbjp ji today to draw his attention towards the increasing incidents of forest fires and the resultant loss of flora and fauna in Odisha,” tweeted the Minister.

Pradhan said forest fires are causing irreversible damages to the environment and also impacting local communities.

He requested to institute urgent measures for containing the forest fires and also set up an empowered committee consisting of central, state forest officials and environmentalists for charting long-term action plan for mitigating and preventing forest fires in Odisha.
