Odisha govt extends OBC survey deadline


Bhubaneswar: In view of the intense heat-wave conditions across the state, Odisha government on Saturday extended the deadline for the OBC survey till June 6.

Initially, the survey was scheduled from May 1 to May 26.

The government has recruited enumerators who will conduct door-to-door survey including on the holidays.

Apart from this, Anganwadi centres and PDS points have also been made survey centres. The head of the family can visit the centre and submit the data about his/her family members by showing voter identity card, passport, PAN card or Aadhaar card.

A total of 208 castes, excluding Brahman, Karan, ST and SC, are participating in the survey.

In Bhubaneswar, the survey is being conducted at 101 centres set up in 70 schools.
