CM sanctions Rs 20 cr to Aahaar Society

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Thursday sanctioned Rs 20 crore from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF) to the State Aahaar Society.

 The funds will be utilized by the Aahaar Committee, responsible for managing Aahaar Kendras across different parts of the state.

The Aahaar programme, initiated in 2015, aims to provide nutritious meals to economically disadvantaged individuals in urban areas.

By charging a nominal fee of just Rs 5, the scheme ensures that the poor have access to healthy and affordable food options.

Over the years, the CMRF has already sanctioned a significant sum of Rs 228.76 crore for the Aahaar programme between 2015-16 and 2021-22.
