Moquim, Chiranjib suspended from Congress

Bhubaneswar: Cuttack-Barabati MLA Mohd Moquim and former MLA Chiranjib Biswal have been suspended from Congress for ‘indulging in anti-party activities’.

The action was taken by the Disciplinary Action Committee (DAC) of the party following a complaint from Odisha Congress President Sarat Pattanayak.

The DAC had issued notices to both the leaders seeking their explanations.

“The replies received from them were carefully considered by the DAC and found unsatisfactory. Accordingly, the DAC decided to place them under suspension from the party with immediate effect,” said Tariq Anwar, DAC member-secretary in a press release.
