Odisha govt enhances health insurance coverage for journalists under Gopabandhu Sambadika Swasthya Bima Yojana

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government took a significant step on Tuesday by increasing the health insurance coverage to Rs. 5 lakh under the “Gopabandhu Sambadika Swasthya Bima Yojana” for working journalists in the state.

This move is set to benefit as many as 8,717 working journalists and their family members, providing them with comprehensive medical coverage. Previously, the journalists were entitled to an insurance coverage of Rs. 2 lakh per annum.

With this substantial increase, the journalists will now have access to cashless treatment at all Public and Private hospitals in Odisha.
