CDPO in Vigilance net for accepting bribe in Odisha 


Bhadrak: Odisha Vigilance on Wednesday arrested a Child Development Project Officer (CDPO) in Bhadrak district while demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000.

The accused officer has been identified as Sugandha Das.

As per reports, Das has been repeatedly demanding a bribe of Rs 50,000 from one Itishree Sethi, a resident of Saragadia village in the district for getting her employed as Anganwadi worker.

However, Das settled for Rs 10,000 and asked Itishree to pay the amount today. 

Accordingly, the Vigilance officials laid a trap and caught the officer red-handed while taking the bribe amount.

The entire bribe amount has been recovered from her possession, said the Vigilance.

Further investigation into the matter is underway,  it said.
