Bhubaneswar: Students of three batches who graduated from the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences (SPS), faculty of pharmaceutical sciences of Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan (SOA), were presented their degree certificates at a special
graduation ceremony held in the university auditorium on Wednesday.
The students had studied B.Pharm, M.Pharm and M.Sc. (Biotechnology) and belonged to the 2020, 2021 and 2022 batches but no graduation ceremony could be held for them because of the pandemic.
Prof. Pradipta Kumar Nanda, Vice-Chancellor of SOA, who was the chief guest at the ceremony, congratulated the graduating students and wished them a bright future.
SOA, he said, had collaborations with several foreign universities meant to benefit the students.
“You have passed out from a university which has been ranked 15 th in the country by the National Institutional Ranking Framework in 2023 and your institution has many foreign collaborations,” he said.
Prof. Nanda said several labs had been set up to facilitate research while an Incubation Centre under the Atal Innovation Mission had been sanctioned for the university to support innovation and entrepreneurship. The university has been focusing on research, collaboration, patents and start ups, he added.
SOA, he said, had signed 137 MoUs with industries and foreign universities for
collaboration in different areas.
Prof. Sitikantha Mishra, Pro-Chancellor of SOA, Prof. Manjula Das, Controller of Examination, Prof. Sudam Chandra Si, Dean of SPS, Prof. Jyoti Ranjan Das, Dean (Students’ Welfare), heads of different departments, academic council members and faculties were present.
