Academician Prof Pramod Pattanayak passes away

Bhubaneswar: Eminent academician Prof. Pramod Chandra Pattanayak, who served the Institute of Technical Education and Research (ITER), faculty of engineering of Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan (SOA), as Professor and Advisor in the Department of Electrical Engineering for eight years, passed away here on Monday following a brief illness.

Prof. Pattanayak also worked as a Professor at the Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology (VSSUT) in Burla and Dean of the College of Engineering and Technology (presently Odisha University of Technology and Research) here for about eleven years before joining SOA.

He was 86. Prof. Pattanayak, whose wife had predeceased him, is survived by two sons.

He complained of uneasiness in the morning after which he was rushed to a private hospital here where he breathed his last. Professors and faculty members from SOA visited his residence to pay their last respects.
