Redevelopment of Baleswar Railway Station: All you need to know


Bhubaneswar: Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw today announced that Rs 197 crore has been sanctioned for the redevelopment of Baleswar railway station in Odisha.

●         Inspired by traditional Baleswar architecture, the station’s design integrates elements like arches, ornate facades, and locally sourced materials that reflect the city’s cultural heritage

●         The Station facade features wheels of the Konark Temple

●         Shikhar draws inspiration from Jaganath Puri

●         The facade showcases Saura paintings of the Saura tribals, adding a unique cultural touch

Highlights

●         Project cost: Rs. 197 crores

●         Designed for next 50 years, will handle 50,000 passengers per day

●         Station Building on both sides of city connected with 18 m wide Roof Plaza

●         Improvement to circulating area and provision of cover shed

●         Improvement to the waiting hall and construction of AC lounge

●         14 Lifts, 06 Escalators, 20 Access Control gates

●         3 FOBs connecting all Platforms; all covered Platform

●         Spacious Parking of more than 7000 sqm

●         133 KW Solar Panel; 1000 KLD Water Recycling Plant

●         Improvement of Goods Shed

●         Completion Period 30 months
