Jio cements No. 1 position in Odisha, adds over 1.3 lakh new subscribers


Bhubaneswar: Further cementing its No. 1 position in Odisha telecom market, Reliance Jio continued its dominance as the most preferred digital service provider in the state.

As per the latest telecom subscriber data released by TRAI, Reliance Jio added the highest 1.3 lakh new mobile subscribers in Odisha, in the month of January 2024 while its nearest competitor Airtel added just 39000 mobile subscribers in the month. Both VI and BSNL lost subscribers in the month, it added.

With this, the total number of mobile subscribers on Jio network in Odisha inched closer to 1.5 crores, as on January 31, 2024. Overall telecom subscriber base in Odisha increased by over 1.46 lakhs in January, taking the total number of mobile subscribers in the state to over 3.34 crores. Continuing as the most preferred service provider, Jio has been consistently adding new subscribers in Odisha as it added over 9 lakh new mobile subscribers in the 12 months of 2023.

Nationally, Jio also marched ahead with addition of over 41.78 lakh subscribers in January, taking the total mobile subscriber base on pan-India Jio Network to over 46.39 crores, further consolidating its position as the No. 1 digital service provider in the country. 

It is worth mentioning that Reliance Jio has been the most preferred digital service provider in Odisha with the highest 44.8% subscriber market share and the highest 52% revenue market share in the industry.
