Thunderstorms may bring relief from heat wave in parts of Odisha

Bhubaneswar: Relief from scorching temperatures might come in the form of thunderstorms across various parts of Odisha today.

The Regional Meteorological Centre predicts that thunderstorms accompanied by lightning are expected in isolated areas of Sonepur, Boudh, Nuapada, Balangir, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Nabarangpur, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Bargarh, Jharsuguda, and Sundargarh districts.

Although there are no heat wave warnings for any district today, hot and humid conditions are likely in isolated spots within Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, and Dhenkanal, as stated by the Meteorological Centre.

However, the respite from the heat may be brief as heat wave conditions are anticipated to return to the state from April 25 onwards, according to the Centre’s forecast.
