Jio adds highest 1.25 lakh new mobile subscribers in Odisha


Bhubaneswar: Reliance Jio continued its excellent march as the most preferred digital service provider in Odisha, further consolidating its No. 1 position in the state.

As per the latest telecom subscriber data released by TRAI, Reliance Jio added the highest over 1.25 lakh new mobile subscribers in Odisha, in the month of March 2024 while its nearest competitor Airtel added just 74000 mobile subscribers in the month. Both VI and BSNL lost thousands of mobile subscribers in the month, it added.

With this, the total number of mobile subscribers on Jio network in Odisha inched closer to 1.52 crores, as on March 31, 2024. Overall telecom subscriber base in Odisha increased by over 1.75 lakhs in March, taking the total number of mobile subscribers in the state to over 3.37 crores.

Nationally, Jio also marched ahead with addition of over 21.43 lakh subscribers in March, taking the total mobile subscriber base on pan-India Jio Network to over 46.97 crores, further consolidating its position as the No. 1 digital service provider in the country. 

It is worth mentioning that Reliance Jio has been the most preferred digital service provider in Odisha with the highest over 45% subscriber market share and the highest 52% revenue market share in the industry. The rapid and continuous rise in the number of Jio subscribers in the state has been fuelled by its largest 4G and 5G network presence across the state, fast expansion of into the hitherto unconnected regions and the immense popularity of the ultra-affordable JioBharat 4G phone available at just Rs. 999/-, with access to premium applications like JioSaavn, JioCinema, JioTV and UPI payment facility etc.
