BJP releases manifesto ahead of Odisha elections


Bhubaneswar: BJP National President JP Nadda today released party’s ‘Sankalp Patra’ (election manifesto) ahead of assembly elections in Odisha.

BJP has made 21 promises in the manifesto.

It promised to parocure paddy at Rs 3100 per quintal and irrigation of 100% farmland in next 5 years, cash vouchers of Rs 50,000 to women which they can encash in 2 years.

“We will fill up all pending job vacancies in the State Government on priority reserved under the Ex-Servicemen quota. We will ensure recruitment to 1.5 lakh vacant Government posts in a fair and transparent manner. Recruitment for 65,000 posts will be completed in 2 years. We will fill the vacancies for OBC and EWS on a priority basis,” the manifesto said.

It promised to formulate and enact a state-level education policy, aligning with the National Education Policy 2020 (NEP-2020), within three months of assuming office, ensuring swift progress towards holistic educational reforms . It will also provide legal, medical and engineering courses in Odia.

It will develop an industrial corridor connecting Rourkela, Sambalpur, Paradeep and Dhamra by June 2027 to ensure rapid and integrated development by facilitating seamless multi-modal transport services.

“We will develop Odisha into a robust manufacturing hub, with a special focus on the automobile, EV, semiconductor and IT/ITES industry through the ‘Make in Odisha’ scheme, thereby creating over 3.5 lakh jobs by 2029,” read the manifesto.

 “We will implement Ayushman Bharat—Pradhan Mantri Jan Aarogya Jojana (AB-PMJAY) within 100 days of coming to power, thereby ensuring that the country’s largest universal health insurance is made available to all Odisha residents who have income lower than ₹8 lakh/ per annum,” the Sankalp Patra said.
