We are going to cancel the Agniveer: Rahul Gandhi

Balasore/Bhadrak: Senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi today said they will cancel the Agniveer scheme after coming into power in 2024 elections.

“We are going to cancel the Agniveer (Scheme). The prime minister has turned jawans into labourers, we will turn jawans into jawans once again,” said Rahul Gandhi during an interaction with reporters in Balasore.

Gandhi addressed two election rallies in Balasore and Bhadrak in Odisha and attacked both BJP and BJD.

“BJP and BJD work in partnership in Odisha. I am fighting against the BJP, and they have filed 24 cases – defamation cases and criminal cases – against me. The ED questioned me for 50 hours, BJP snatched my Lok Sabha membership and took my official residence. However, if Naveen Babu is actually fighting against BJP, then how come there are no cases filed against him,” said the Congress leader.

He alleged that Naveen Patnaik of the BJD works here for the BJP.

“Aim of their (BJP and BJD) partnership is to rob money and mines of Odisha and make billionaires. Here, CM is Naveen Babu but (VK) Pandian runs the government with the same objective. There’s no scarcity of money in Odisha,” he said.
