VK Pandian announces retirement from active politics


Bhubaneswar: Biju Janata Dal (BJD) leader VK Pandian today announced retirement from active politics after the debacle of the regional party in the recently concluded general and assembly elections in Odisha.

In a video message, Pandian said he’s sorry if the campaign narrative against him played a role in BJD’s loss.

He also apologized to the whole BJD workers and leaders, if his campaign led them to defeat the recent elections.

“…Now consciously I decide to withdraw myself from active politics. I am sorry if I have hurt anyone on this journey. I am sorry if this campaign narrative against me has had a part to play in BJD’s loss…” he said.

“I apologise to the entire Biju Parivar including all the karmis,” Pandian said.

Pandian said his only intention to join politics was to assist Naveen Babu.

In this video message, he conveyed his heartfelt gratitude to the Biju Parivar members.

He also clarified that he has not accumulated any wealth and his wealth from the beginning of Civil service till date remains same.
