Bhubaneswar: Reliance Jio, the most preferred digital service provider in Odisha, further cemented its No. 1 position in the state with robust new customer additions in both wireless and wireline segments.
As per the latest telecom subscription data released by TRAI, Reliance Jio added the highest over 1.13 lakh new mobile subscribers in Odisha, in the month of April 2024 while its nearest competitor Airtel added just 8954 mobile subscribers in the month. Both VI and BSNL lost thousands of mobile subscribers in the month, it revealed.
With this, the total number of mobile subscribers on Jio network in Odisha crossed 1.53 crores, as on April 30, 2024.
Nationally, Jio also marched ahead with addition of over 26.87 lakh subscribers in April, taking the total number of mobile subscribers on pan-India Jio Network to over 47.24 crores, further consolidating its position as the No. 1 digital service provider in the country.
Reliance Jio has been the most preferred digital service provider in Odisha with over 45% subscriber market share and the highest 52% revenue market share in the industry. The rapid and continuous rise in the number of Jio subscribers in the state has been fuelled by its largest 4G and 5G network presence across the state, fast expansion of into the hitherto unconnected regions and the immense popularity of the ultra-affordable JioBharat 4G phone available at just Rs. 999/-, with access to premium applications like JioSaavn, JioCinema, JioTV and UPI payment facility etc.
