CM Majhi’s homecoming tour,  pledges Rs 50 Cr for Maa Tarini Temple development

Bhubaneswar: Mohan Charan Majhi visited his hometown of Keonjhar for the first time since becoming the Chief Minister of Odisha. CM Majhi led a roadshow from Ghatagaon High School ground to the Maa Tarini Temple, one of Odisha’s prominent religious sites, where he was warmly welcomed by a large crowd.

During the roadshow, he greeted the people with folded hands and took time to listen to their concerns. Later, accompanied by his wife, the Chief Minister offered prayers at the Maa Tarini Temple.

Addressing the media, CM Majhi emphasized his government’s commitment to promoting the Maa Tarini Temple at the national level. He expressed his intention to seek national recognition for the shrine from the Union government.

“Various renovation works amounting to Rs 50 crore are currently underway at the shrine. However, after my visit, I realized that the allocated amount is insufficient, so I announced an additional Rs 50 crore allocation. The beautification and development of the shrine will now be done at a cost of Rs 100 crore, and the project will be completed soon,” said CM Majhi.

During his two-day tour of Keonjhar, CM Majhi is scheduled to attend several other programs and hold another roadshow in his native village of Raikala.

Majhi has represented the Keonjhar Assembly constituency three times: from 2000-2004, 2004-2009, and 2019-2024. He won the seat again in the 2024 General Elections.
