Odisha CM Mohan Majhi begins work at Lok Seva Bhawan with ceremonial entry

Bhubaneswar: On Thursday, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Majhi knelt to pay obeisance before entering Lok Seva Bhawan to commence work at the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO), located on the building’s third floor.

Majhi began his duties from the third-floor office of Lok Seva Bhawan today. He was greeted with a grand welcome upon his arrival, entering his chamber amid the chanting of Vedic hymns by priests.

Deputy Chief Minister K V Singhdeo, Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja, and other senior officials were in attendance.

After officially assuming charge at state secretariat, Majhi said, “Apart from material development, emphasis will also be given to cultural development. Odia language will be widely used in govt work. If needed, Odisha Official Language Act will be amended…”

Since assuming office, the Chief Minister had been working from the first floor of the state guest house, temporarily converted into the CMO, due to ongoing renovations and refurbishments on the third floor of the state secretariat.

Although he presided over the first cabinet meeting at Lok Seva Bhawan, he had not visited the designated chamber on the third floor until now.
