Opening of Jagannath Temple’s Ratna Bhandar on July 14


Puri: The much-anticipated opening of the Ratna Bhandar, the treasure house of the Jagannath Temple in Puri, is set to commence on July 14.

This significant event was confirmed today by Law Minister Prithiviraj Harichandan. The Odisha government has endorsed the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) recommended by the high-power supervisory committee and the managing committee, ensuring a meticulous and respectful handling of the temple’s treasures.

Justice Biswanath Rath, chairman of the high-level committee overseeing the process, announced that the Ratna Bhandar would be opened after 1 PM.

“Since the auspicious time will be after 1 PM tomorrow, the Ratna Bhandar will be opened after 1 PM,” he stated.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has instructed Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida, Law Minister Prithiviraj Harichandan, and Culture Minister Suryavanshi Suraj to remain in Puri until the conclusion of Niladri Bije.

The Ratna Bhandar, a repository of priceless jewels and artifacts, holds immense historical and religious significance. Its opening is a rare and momentous occasion, drawing attention and reverence from devotees and historians alike.
