Bhubaneswar: Senior IPS officer D.S. Kutey, who was suspended by the Election Commission of India (ECI) and later reinstated, was assigned the role of Officer on Special Duty (OSD) in the Home Department on Monday.
The government appointed him after the revocation of his suspension.
Kutey was suspended on May 29 for “unduly interfering in conduct of elections” while serving as the special secretary in the Odisha Chief Minister’s Office. During his suspension, his headquarters was designated at the Office of the Resident Commissioner, Odisha, in New Delhi.
The state government has transferred Odisha’s Resident Commissioner at New Delhi, Ravi Kant, to the position of OSD in the Home Department. Vishal Gagan has been given the additional charge of Resident Commissioner in New Delhi.
