Bhubaneswar: Underscoring the company’s dedication to bolstering the local healthcare infrastructure in remote areas of Odisha, India’s largest aluminum producer Vedanta Aluminium recently organized a successful blood donation camp in Sijimali area in tribal-dominated Rayagada and Kalahandi districts of Odisha,.

Inaugurated by Mr. Dhuruv Charan Munduli, Block Development Officer, Thuamul Rampur along with the medical officer in-charge of Thuamul Rampur in tribal-dominated Kalahandi district, representatives from ECoR (Indian Railways), Bhubaneswar and Odisha Fire Services, the event drew enthusiastic participation from employee-volunteers of Vedanta Aluminium, their families, business partners, and the local community.

They all collectively donated over 30 units of blood to the blood bank in Bhawanipatna (district headquarters of Kalahandi).

Speaking about the blood donation drive, Mr Dhuruv Charan Munduli, Block District Officer (BDO), Thuamul Rampur Block said, “Blood donation is a noble cause that saves life. It is essential to organize such drives for keeping enough blood available in the blood banks for emergencies.”

“I commend the efforts of Vedanta Aluminium for stepping up and supporting this important cause. The blood donated by these volunteers will be crucial in saving countless lives in the days ahead,” quipped Thuamul Rampur BDO.

Thus, the company conducts health camps through its mobile health unit, a door-step health service for free medical check-ups and healthcare awareness in rural Odisha. These efforts underline the company’s commitment to positively impact lives within and beyond its operational areas. Through close collaboration with local authorities, welfare organizations, and community members, Vedanta Aluminium actively contributes towards the socio-economic transformation of Odisha.
