Paris Olympics 2024: Odisha announces Rs 4 cr for Amit Rohidas, Rs 15 lakh for each player

Bhubaneswar: Congratulating the Indian hockey team for clinching the bronze medal at Paris Olympics 2024, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi today announced to provide Rs 15 lakh to each player.

The Chief Minister also announced Rs 4 crore to Amit Rohidas, hockey player from Odisha.

Majhi also announced Rs 10 lakh for the support staff.

Notably, Odisha is the sponsors of both Indian Men’s and Women’s Hockey teams  since 2018.

Indian Men’s Hockey Team scripted history, beat Spain 2-1 to win back-to-back Bronze medals at the Olympic Games.

The winning was a befitting farewell to legendary goalkeeper PR Sreejesh who played his last International hockey match here on Thursday.

Captain Harmanpreet Singh (30′, 33′) scored an important double for India, while the team gave it their all to make this feat happen. Winning the quarterfinal, with just 10-members on the pitch, and then to return from a heartbreak loss in the semifinal against Germany, India showed their grit to end their campaign on the podium.
