Odisha Vigilance raids Assistant Engineer on DA case in Ganjam


Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Vigilance department today initiated simultaneous raids on various properties owned by Prasanna Kumar Swain, Assistant Engineer (Civil) of the Irrigation Division, Bhanjanagar, Ganjam district.

The raids are in connection with allegations of possession of disproportionate assets.

The search operations, involving a team led by 7 Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs), 5 Inspectors/Assistant Sub-Inspectors (ASIs), and other supporting staff, are being conducted on the basis of search warrants issued by the Hon’ble Special Judge, Vigilance, Berhampur.

The house searches are currently underway at the following locations:

  1. Triple-storeyed residential building on Bagdevi Road, Bhejiput Road, Bhanjanagar.
  2. Four-storeyed building at Tulsinagar, Berhampur.
  3. Another triple-storeyed building at Bagdevi Road, Bhejiput, Bhanjanagar.
  4. Double-storeyed under-construction building at Ward No. 6, NAC Bhanjanagar.
  5. Triple-storeyed building located in Bhanjanagar.
  6. Relative’s house at Raghunath Vihar, Bhanjanagar.
  7. House of his cousin at Bagdevi Road, Bhanjanagar.
  8. Office chamber of Prasanna Kumar Swain at the Irrigation Division office in Bhanjanagar.
  9. Single-storeyed parental house located in Luduludi under Bhanjanagar Police Station, Ganjam district.

The search operations are expected to uncover vital information regarding the accumulation of assets disproportionate to Swain’s known sources of income.
