Chief Construction Engineer under Vigilance scanner in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: On the allegation of possession of disproportionate assets (DA), the Odisha Vigilance officials today conducted raids at 11 locations of Chief Engineer, office of Chief Construction Engineer, Rural works Circle, Balasore.

Simultaneous house searches are being conducted on the properties linked to NV Harihara Rao, Chief Engineer.

Odisha Vigilance officials comprising 11 DSPs, 7 Inspectors, 11 ASIs, and other supporting staff are conducting searches on the strength of search warrants issued by Special Judge, Vigilance, Bhubaneswar at 11 places in Bhubaneswar, Berhampur, Balasore, Keonjhar, and Phulbani.

1) Double storeyed building over plot No. 4592 at Bhabinipur, Berhampur.

2) Single storeyed building over plot No. 284, at Patrapada, Bhubaneswar.

3) 3 BHK Flat located at Spectrum Green Apartment Flat No. 205, 1st Floor, Baidyanathpur, Kamapalli, Berhampur.

4) Paternal house of Sri N V Harihara Rao located at Olenbatch Nagar, Phulbani.

5) Office chamber of Sri N V Rao located at RW Circle, Balasore.

6) Govt Quarter of Sri NV Rao located at RW Circle Campus, Balasore.

7) His office chamber located at RW Circle, Keonjhar.

8) Residential Quarter of Sri Rao located at the RW Campus, Keonjhar.

9) House of his relative located at Tulasi Nagar, Berhampur.

10) House of his relative located at Shanti Nagar, Berhampur.

11) House of his associate located at Baldevjew Colony, Keonjhar.

FURTHER UPDATES: CASH RS. 46.45 LAKHS, 2 BUILDINGS, ONE 3-BHK FLAT, 2 SUSPECTED BENAMI FLATS IN BHUBANESWAR & BERHAMPUR, 4 HIGH VALUE HOMESTEAD PLOTS, DEPOSITS OVER RS.1.11 CRORE, ETC UNEARTHED SO FAR DURING SEARCHES ON PROPERTIES LINKED TO SRI N. V. HARIHARA RAO, CHIEF ENGINEER, O/O CHIEF CONSTRUCTION ENGINEER, RURAL WORKS CIRCLE, BALASORE.

During house searches so far, the following assets have been unearthed in the name of Sri Rao and his family members

1. One double storeyed building with area 2100 Sqft. over plot No. 4592 at Bhabinipur, Berhampur.
2. One building with area 3000 Sqft. over plot No.284, at Patrapada, Bhubaneswar.
3. One 3-BHK Flat with area approx 1200 Sqft. located at Spectrum Green Apartment Flat No.205, 1st Floor, Baidyanathpur, Kamapalli, Berhampur.

4.2 suspected benami flats, one at Orchid Residency, Sundarpada, BBSR, and another at Swastik Apartment, Baidyanathnagar, Berhampur. Ownership being verified.

5. 4 high value homestead plots including 2 in Bhubaneswar & 1 in Berhampur. Details as under;

i) A piece of land vide plot No.284, Khata No.235 with area 0.084 dcml at Patrapada, Bhubaneswar.

ii) A piece of land vide plot No.188, Khata No.266 with area 0.0058 dcml at Tangibanta, Bhubaneswar.

iii) A piece of land vide plot No.4592, Khata No.1135 with area 0.057 dcml at Berhmapur town.

iv) A piece of land vide plot No.1360/2174, Khata No.367/162 with area 0.124 dcml at Badagumula, Ganjam.

The measurement and valuation/assessment of the above buildings/flat/plots are being carried out by Vigilance Technical Wing.

6. Bank deposits over Rs.1.11crore.

7.Cash Rs.46.45 Lakhs unearthed during search from house of his brother-in-law at Berhampur. Brother-in-law of Sri Rao is working as Govt Doctor at Berhampur Jail. Source of such huge cash is being verified.

8.Other deposits and investments are being ascertained.

9.One locker being maintained at SBI, Berhampur branch in name of his spouse is still to be opened.

10.1 four wheeler & 1 two wheeler.
