Cyclone Dana: OCS preliminary exam postponed


Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC) has postponed the Odisha Civil Service (OCS) preliminary examination, which was scheduled to be held on October 27.

The OPSC has decided to postpone the examination due to the impending cyclonic storm ‘Dana’.

The next date to be notified after seven days.

“In view of the impending cyclonic storm “DANA”, the OCS Preliminary Examination-2023, pursuant to Advt. No. 20 of 2023-24 scheduled to be held on 27.10.2024 is hereby postponed. The next date of OCS Preliminary examination-
2023 shall be notified after 07 days,” said OPSC in a notification.

The OPSC has asked candidates to visit the website of the Commission at opsc.gov.in for further information.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) today informed that cyclonic storm Dana is likely to make landfall between Bhitarkanika and Dhamra.

Officials informed that ‘Dana’ is likely to develop and it is around 520 km away from Paradip and 600 km away from Sagar Island. The maximum impact of cyclone Dana is likely to be on October 24 and early morning of October 25.
