Bihar’s Aaadhar Authentication solution bags SKOCH award


New Delhi: The Bihar Aadhaar Authentication Framework (BAAF), a disruptive, citizen-centric solution has bagged the prestigious SKOCH 2024 e-governance Award in the Silver Category.

The solution is being implemented by Bihar’s Department of Information Technology to encrypt and authenticate the Aadhaar credentials of the residents of Bihar.

Mr. Vivek Kumar Nirala, Project Lead of Bihar State Electronics Development Corporation (BELTRON) and Mr. Prabhat Kumar, Senior Consultant, DIT, Bihar received the award from Mr. Sameer Kochhar, MD of SKOCH Group at an event held in New Delhi.

The award is a testimony to the unwavering trust placed by the people of Bihar in Aadhaar’s transformative capabilities. Every day, over 2.5 lakh Aadhaar authentication transactions seamlessly connect the state’s residents to critical services and benefits, showcasing the platform’s efficiency and integration into daily life.

The BAAF anchored by the Bihar Aadhaar Vault, strengthens data security, regulatory compliance, and the efficient management of Aadhaar numbers.

CSM Tech built the tech backbone, thus ensuring robust data security, compliance with regulations, and efficient management of Aadhaar numbers, contributing to a more secure and trustworthy authentication to UIDAI standards & specifications.

BAAF has completed over 620 million authentication of beneficiaries in 5 years across 13 departments/ Sub AUA (Aadhaar Authentication Agency) of the state. This milestone highlights the framework’s scalability and efficiency, solidifying its role as a cornerstone in Bihar’s digital governance strategy.
