IIM Sambalpur becomes first IIM to launch NHRDN Chapter


New Delhi: In a pioneering move to strengthen the synergy between industry and academia, IIM Sambalpur, one of the premier management institutions, in collaboration with the National HRD Network (NHRDN) has announced to establish a new chapter at its Campus in an event in New Delhi.

With this initiative, IIM Sambalpur has become the first IIM to have a chapter of NHRDN. The initiative aims to create a landscape for human resource development and thought leadership in India, by providing a platform with 20,000 active members including senior HR professionals, academicians and students to facilitate though-provoking discussions, promote best practices, and undertake projects that will shape the future of HR practices in the country.

It is important to note that the National HRD Network is one of the most prominent professional organizations in the field of Human Resources and has played a pivotal role in shaping HR practices and policies across various industries.

This will be NHRDN’s overall 52nd Chapter including 3 international chapters in Singapore, Middle East, Nepal and 9 student chapters; further underscoring its expansive reach and influence. Through this collaboration, IIM Sambalpur aims to bring together the expertise of the HR community with the academic rigor and research-driven approach of a premier management institute.

On the occasion, Prof Mahadeo Jaiswal, Director, IIM Sambalpur, said, “In alignment with our core values and mission to contribute to the development of future-ready HR leaders, our collaboration with the National HRD Network brings together the expertise of the HR community. Through this chapter, we are organizing cutting-edge programmes designed to develop visionary leaders equipped with contemporary HR strategies and by promoting collaborative research that bridges academic insights with real-world applications in HR. Our goal is to create a dynamic interface for industry experts and students to collaborate and innovate as well as to host workshops, seminars, and networking events to enhance skills and expand professional connections.”

The programme endeavors to advance the theoretical and practical dimensions of Human Resource Development (HRD) by promoting a comprehensive understanding of its philosophy, processes, and applications through rigorous research, exploration, and continuous knowledge acquisition.

It aims to disseminate advanced HRD knowledge among professionals and practitioners, facilitating the exchange of insights and experiences to strengthen the field.

Established over 36 years ago, NHRDN is autonomous, not-for-profit professionally managed organization, playing a catalyst role in grooming Leaders for Tomorrow. It has over 20000 members.
