Chhatrapur: Adani Foundation, the CSR arm of the Adani Group, has commenced its first CSR initiatives at the Gopalpur Port site, focusing on community development and welfare.
To mark the beginning, a School Bag Distribution Program was launched, benefiting over 2,500 students from Government schools in the port’s periphery. This initiative is being rolled out in a phased manner and will cover 13 Government schools of the port periphery.The School Bag distribution ceremony was held at Aryapalli High School on 10th December.
The occasion was graced by Dibya Mohanty, Tehsildar, Chhatrapur Block. Among others, Trilochan Behera, Sarpanch, Aryapalli Panchayat, Rajalaxmi Samantara, Headmistress, Aryapalli High School, K Alleya and its School Management Committee members were present on this occasion.
Attending the programme, Sandeep Jaiswal, Business Head, Gopalpur Port said that the APSEZ acquired Gopalpur Port just before two months ago and this is just beginning of our first CSR initiative. We will expedite the CSR work in the coming days under the banner of Adani Foundation at the periphery of Gopalpur Port.The event saw enthusiastic participation from students and local stakeholders. In addition to the school bag distribution, Adani Foundation has initiated discussions with various Gram Panchayats to identify critical social issues and explore possible interventions under the port’s CSR initiatives. Some of the community requests include rural electrification of the fishing jetty route at Aryapalli, solar light installation at Kaliabali Square, village-level health camps, and the installation of RO water purification units etc.Committed to its core values, Adani Foundation aims to address these pressing needs and contribute to the holistic development of the port’s peripheral villages. Through these initiatives, the Foundation strives to build sustainable and impactful solutions for the betterment of local communities.
