Sambalpur: Dharmendra Pradhan, Union Minister of Education and Skill development & Entrepreneurship honoured Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL) for undertaking significant steps towards eradication of Tuberculosis (TB) and upliftment of the marginalized people in Angul district of Odisha.
Uday Anant Kaole, Chairman cum Managing Director, MCL received the certificate of appreciation at a ceremonial function held in Angul. Rudranarayan Pany, MP Dhenkanal, Keshav Rao, Director (Personnel) MCL, Abdaal M Akhtar, Collector Angul, other dignitaries and senior officials of MCL were also present on this occasion.
As part of its corporate social responsibilities, MCL has undertaken several measures towards eradicating TB in the district. 254 families and 1016 TB patients have been provided with food baskets to support for their nutrition and improved health.
A dedicated TB-awareness van was also flagged-off as a measure to spread awareness about the control of TB, early diagnosis, and cure in Pallahada, Talcher, and Kaniha blocks of Angul district.
This initiative aligns with the Government of India’s vision of eliminating TB by 2025 and underscores MCL’s dedication to fostering a healthier and stronger community through collaborative public health efforts.
