Bhubaneswar: Subhadra Shakti Mela 2025, being held at Janta Maidan, Bhubaneswar, continued to captivate visitors on its fourth day, with an array of exclusive products showcased by over 300 stalls, featuring Self-Help Groups (SHGs) and Producer Groups (PGs) from across the state.
From traditional handicrafts and artifacts to organic food products, health & wellness items, processed food, home essentials, and accessories, the mela has emerged as a one-stop destination for Odisha’s rich cultural heritage and women-led entrepreneurship.
One of the biggest attraction of the Mela of day 4 was One District One Product (ODOP) showcase, where visitors explored a unique range of locally sourced and crafted products from different districts of Odisha.
Among the highlights were Terracotta from Angul ,Silver Filigree from Cuttack, Pattachitra from Puri,Patta saree from Sonepur,dry fish from Bhadrak , Sambalpuri Handloom from Bargarh, Golden Grass from Kendrapara and many more. These products reflect Odisha’s traditional craftsmanship while providing a vital livelihood for thousands of SHG entrepreneurs.
The event witnessed a special visit from renowned Ollywood star Shri Sritam Das, who engaged with artisans and expressed admiration for the diverse range of handmade products available at the mela, encouraging the women entrepreneurs.
The cultural segment of Day 4 mesmerized the audience with a spectacular ‘Jodi Sankha’ dance performance, followed by a comedy show by celebrated artists Pragyan and Shankar. The evening concluded with a vibrant Chhau dance performance, adding to the grandeur of the event.
With an overwhelming response from the public, the cumulative footfall soared to 40,000, while the cumulative sales from the mela reached more than ₹1 crore. The Subhadra Shakti mela continues to offer an unmatched shopping experience while empowering Odisha’s women entrepreneurs. The mela is expected to attract more footfall in the coming days. Besides, the women hoped that it will provide a good opportunity to showcase their products.
