11 coaches of Bangalore-Kamakhya AC Superfast Express Derail Near Nergundi Station in Odisha


On Sunday, 30th March 2025, a major train derailment occurred near Nergundi Station in the Khurda Road Division of East Coast Railway in Odisha. The 12551 Bangalore-Kamakhya AC Superfast Express was involved in the incident, where 11 of its coaches derailed at around 11:54 hrs. Fortunately, there have been no reports of injuries or casualties.

Immediate Response to the Train Derailment

Following the incident, District Railway Manager (DRM) of Khurda Road, along with the General Manager (GM) of East Coast Railway (ECoR), and other senior officials rushed to the scene of the derailment. The quick response of railway authorities helped ensure a swift and coordinated recovery operation.

In addition, both Accident Relief and Medical Relief Trains were dispatched to the site to assist with rescue efforts and ensure passenger safety.
