Bhubaneswar: Odisha Vigilance officials on Wednesday launched simultaneous raids at several locations connected to Ramachandra Satpathy, the Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE) of Athamallik Block in Angul district, over allegations of possessing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.
According to reports, a large team comprising seven Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs), 15 inspectors, and additional support staff is conducting searches at eight different locations spread across Angul, Dhenkanal, Cuttack, and Kalahandi districts.
The raids are being carried out under search warrants issued by the Special Judge, Vigilance, Cuttack. The locations under scrutiny include:
- Satpathy’s residence at Ward No. 15, Plot No. 12, Gayatri Nagar, Dhenkanal
- His official quarter in Athamallik Town, Angul district
- His office at the Panchayat Samiti Office in Athamallik
- His paternal home in Banasingh village, under Dhenkanal Sadar Police Station
- His in-law’s residence in Junagarh, Kalahandi
- Another in-law’s home in Karamula village, under Gandia Police Station, Dhenkanal
- A residential property belonging to another in-law in Bhawanipatna, Kalahandi
- A structure built on a plot in Bachhipur, Trisulia, under Barang area of Cuttack
The raids are currently ongoing, and further information is awaited as the investigation progresses.
