Bhubaneswar: Reliance Jio has solidified its dominance in the 5G FWA segment in Odisha with Jio AirFiber commanding over 87% 5G FWA subscriber market share in the state.
This has been revealed by the latest telecom subscription data released by Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), this week. For the first time TRAI has released the subscription numbers for 5G FWA segment, separately.
As per the data released by TRAI, Reliance Jio’s 5G FWA service Jio AirFiber is leading by a huge margin, with over 1.3 lakh Jio AirFiber subscribers in the state, followed by Airtel, a distant second, with around 18000 subscribers as on January 31, 2025. The total 5G FWA subscriber base in Odisha has surpassed 1.5 lakhs in January 2025, as per the data released by TRAI.
Nationally, Jio also dominates the 5G FWA segment with Jio AirFiber commanding over 84% subscriber market share in the country. As per the 5G FWA subscription data released by TRAI, Jio had over 48 lakh Jio AirFiber subscribers, followed by Airtel which had around 8 lakh 5G FWA subscribers in the country, as on January 31, 2025.
In Odisha, Jio also further consolidated its No. 1 position in wireless segment as it added the highest nearly 50000 new mobile subscribers in the month of January 2025, taking the total mobile subscribers on Jio network in Odisha to 1.57 crores, as per the latest telecom subscription data, released by TRAI.
