Berhampur: Promoting a culture of creativity, collaboration, and continuous innovation, TP Southern Odisha Distribution Limited (TPSODL) celebrated Innovation Day 2025 with great enthusiasm at its corporate office on the occasion of World Creativity and Innovation Day. The event, themed “T&D Innovation Carnival,” was inaugurated by CEO Amit Kumar Garg along with the senior leadership team.
The celebration showcased a variety of innovative projects developed by different departments, including Network Engineering and Planning (NEP),Plant Engineering, Safety, Operations, Technology, and Commercial. It created a platform for employees to share creative ideas that can bring real change to the power sector.
The carnival included exhibitions, interactive discussions, and panel sessions that encouraged a culture of innovation, teamwork, and continuous improvement across the organization. Employees presented new concepts and practical solutions that focus on improving the quality of power supply and consumer service.
Some of the key innovation projects showcased in the exhibition which includes smart automation controllers, improved use of SCADA systems, Low Tension (LT) automation, and new protection mechanisms to avoid power disruptions. These initiatives are expected to make power distribution more efficient and reliable for consumers.
Innovation is central to TPSODL’s goal of delivering safe and reliable electricity. By adopting technologies like SCADA, GIS, and smart isolation systems, the company is improving operational control and efficiency. TPSODL is the first utility in Odisha to set up SCADA-enabled Area Power System Control Centers (APSCCs) across all circles, enabling real-time monitoring and faster response to power issues.
The integration of platforms like GIS, ADMS, and SCADA has streamlined operations and enhanced service delivery. TPSODL is also turning innovative ideas into action through technology labs, drone surveillance and mobile substations making its power distribution system smarter and more sustainable.
